HEA Emergency PackAuthor: Colleen Strange
‘The inspector is coming tomorrow’ start to home education. This CD is designed to get you through the ‘inspection’ process administered by your state authority with a minimum or greater length of registration. The pack is a seven step guide to preparing for registration with the education authorities in each Australian state or territory.
Along the way we hope it will help you realize your potential as a teaching parent. It is not a ‘this is how to home-school’ sort of instruction kit. You need to get yourself educated about how children (and people in general) learn and more specifically how your own children learn, in order to succeed in home-schooling.
The pack contains 7 steps, instructions for printing your programme and timetable. Programs for English, Maths, Science & Technology, Human Society & It's Environment, Creative and Practical Arts, and Personal Development Health and Physical Education are geared more toward the Infants and Primary age level. A weekly timetable is also included. You can adjust, delete and add items to suit your family needs. Simple lesson planning using Theme Studies is also included and some examples of assessment.
Cost $45 ($36 HEA members)
To order an Emergency Pack you can either -
Funds Transfer $45 to the HEA bank account: BSB:062 262 Account No.10161154 and email your contact details to secretary@hea.asn.au or send a cheque or money order for $45 to Home Education Association, PO Box 245, Petersham NSW 2049 with your return address.
When you get through the inspection process or if you're needs are not so urgent, the HEA runs a much more substantial and helpful course to assist parents in Home-schooling. The course is designed to aid parents new to home-schooling and home-schooling parents who are experiencing burn-out. The course is also available on CD.
