The Department of Education Science and Training distributes Job Guides to all Year 10 students at schools throughout Australia each year. If you are a home schooled teen and would like to receive a copy, please read on.
The Job Guide describes over 500 occupations with over 1,000 job titles and explains how to choose a job, plan a career and how to look for work. As well as providing up to date career information, it has useful ideas on career planning and comprehensive information about the different career pathways available. These descriptions include the specific tasks and skills, personal requirements and education and training required for the job. It also lists course and further information details.
Home-schooled senior students are entitled to one copy of Job Guide 2007. You do not need to be a HEA member to receive a copy.
Job Guide 2007 can be ordered by emailing a request to jobguide@dest.gov.au. Please provide a name and full street address for delivery purposes and indicate that the Job Guide is for a home-schooled senior student.
